Looking Forward to the New Year: 2020 Travel Plans

So here we are, finally in 2020! I have been planning some of my 2020 trips for quite some time, with others relatively recently booked. In this post I’m going to be talking about the travels that I have in store for 2020.

*Except for a couple, since I’ve not actually gone on any of these trips yet, photos are not my own!

The Philippines and Cambodia

The trip I have been waiting for for so long! My friend and I have been planning this trip for over a year and we don’t have too much longer to wait, we’re finally flying to Manila mid-March before starting our island hopping. We’re visiting El Nido and Coron with a boat expedition in between.

After that, I’m continuing on solo to Camiguin and Boracay and then to Cambodia where I am visiting Siem Reap to see Angkor Wat. Finally I am spending a few days relaxing in the Cambodian islands before returning home. All in all, the trip is 3 weeks long and has taken a lot of planning!

Bavaria, Germany

My dad has been learning German and was keen to visit the country again ‘for practise’. Obviously it didn’t take much to persuade me and southern Germany was on my list of places to revisit so it presented a good opportunity!

We’re flying in to Munich and spending 4 nights in the area. On my list of places to visit is the Neuschwanstein Castle along with a good dose of lakes – specifically the beautiful lakes of Eibsee and Königssee. One other highlight will be our Munich Airbnb that has cats! Our trip all in is costing around £250pp.

Cyprus

For the first time ever, this year is the year that I will be going on all inclusive holiday! I have never been on a holiday before that has even been semi-inclusive so this really will be a new experience for me. I booked this trip (the whole lot) in the beginning of September and all in is costing around £450pp.

My boyfriend and I are visiting in June for a week, and staying at a hotel in Paphos (on the south coast) and I’d definitely like to force myself to do less than I usually cram in to holidays. But on top of some pool/beach days, it would be nice to get to some of the other areas of the island with beautiful beaches (for a bit of variety!)

Egypt and Jordan

So on the same day I booked the Cyprus trip, I was clearly on a roll and also booked myself onto a tour to Egypt and Jordan! Flights etc. aren’t booked yet but the tour is in September for 2 weeks and visits Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and the Red Sea in Egypt and then in Jordan visits Wadi Rum, Petra and the Dead Sea. The tour cost £800 (which isn’t too bad for a tour that length) and I am yet to book flights.

I didn’t have Egypt or Jordan on my 2020 plans until just before booking so for me it was very spontaneous. By the time I actually go on the trip… not so spontaneous!

So what trips do you have planned for the year? Or are you staying much more spontaneous than me?!
