A picture tells a thousand words right? I'm going to be taking a trip down memory lane, easily done by going through photo archives, to some of my past travels. I will tell the story with some of my favourite photos as a guide. I hope you enjoy!

When I visited Australia in 2017, I knew that I wanted to do the classic East Coast trip (see previous Trip in Pictures post here). I have always wanted to also visit Uluru as an iconic places in the world. I also was hoping to visit Fiji, but before researching I had no idea how expensive a trip to the Northern Territory would be! Fiji had to wait for another day (it's still waiting) and, in an unlikely choice perhaps, I still opted to visit this special area.
It was a short but sweet trip, where I visited Uluru of course, and also Kata Tjuta. We then also went hiking in King's Canyon. Keep reading (or just looking, as there will be limited words!) for all the Red Centre inspiration you need.

After a walk through the spectacular Kata Tjuta rock structure, we headed to an Uluru viewing spot for a glass of fizz at sunset. All of the different colours at different times of day and the majesty when in the presence of Uluru has to be experienced in person to be truly understood. One of my sunset pictures in in the Instagram shots below and in contrast, the next morning we did a sunrise walk around the entire base (a significantly longer walk than I was expecting!)

The most interesting thing about being so close to Uluru was how un-smooth it really is!
Following this, we did some trekking in the Kings Canyon area. I knew nothing about this before coming but it was a really cool area.

And then we turn a corner and see these pools among these rock formations... when you have nothing to expect, everything wows you much more easily apparently!
In reference to the photo below, we walked down into what I can only think to describe as a gorge or canyon? And then these pools are just jet black.

If you'd like to visit this beautiful area (definitely worth doing if you're this side of the world!), please make sure you are aware of the cultural importance of these locations and be accordingly respectful when necessary.
If for some reason you need more pictures, check out my Insta'd pics from the trip below!
