Just me next to a slice of a huge tree, no biggie

A picture tells a thousand words right? I'm going to be taking a trip down memory lane, easily done by going through photo archives, to some of my past travels. I will tell the story with some of my favourite photos as a guide. I hope you enjoy!

In 2016 I spent 4 weeks in the USA, some of which I dedicated to getting out into some of the National Parks of the country. Get ready to see lots of rocks!

Grand Canyon

So this is the big ticket item! We visited two viewpoints - one in the afternoon (into evening) and then also the next morning. I'd definitely recommend trying to visit at different times of day and different viewpoints where possible, you just such a different perspective of the light each time.

Monument Valley

For me, this was something that was really important that I got to see while in this area. It just looks so unreal, and also seems as strange in real life! Definitely makes you feel like you're in a western even if you've never seen a western before like me.

Bryce Canyon

Another day another set of mental rocks. Bryce Canyon wasn't somewhere I had specifically heard of before my trip but I am so glad I made the visit!

You walk down through the rocks and there are plenty of trails amongst the amazing scenery. Definitely one to put on your list!

Zion

Zion is another of the destinations that I hadn't really seen photos of/heard many people talking about. It's not quite as striking as Bryce Canyon was, but still super beautiful with lots of running water (streams and waterfalls). Makes for a peaceful place in my opinion... if you remove the tourists.

Yosemite

Yosemite will be another big ticket item for most people and so I was super excited for our day here. These first pictures were on our drive into the valley... it was so frustrating because we kept driving past all of these serene lakes but didn't stop at any of them! The resulting pictures taken from a moving vehicle were not so impressive as you might imagine.

Including these squirrel pictures for no reason other than the fact they look cute and I managed to somehow capture them quite well!

Can't remember what this *very famous* view is called, but I just remember that's it's very famous!

Also visited in this little venture around the South West was Antelope Canyon and Glen Canyon Dam as well as Las Vegas the icon!
