A Trip in Pictures: Croatia

A picture tells a thousand words right? I'm going to be taking a trip down memory lane, easily done by going through photo archives, to some of my past travels. I will tell the story with some of my favourite photos as a guide. I hope you enjoy!
First up we have Croatia, a country I visited last summer, in 2017, just after I got back from my last long solo trip. This was somewhere I had wanted to visit for so long, and you will see why!

Words can't describe how excited I was to be in Dubrovnik on such a beautiful day! We were tired after an early start but didn't have long in Dubrovnik (a little over 24 hours) so I dragged us straight to Lovrijenac (St. Lawrence) fortress. This is the view looking back at Dubrovnik's city walls.

On our second day we got up early to walk the city walls of Dubrovnik before the tourists came out in their masses or it got too hot. I took the third picture because it made me think of Santorini... and little did I know I would be visiting less than a year later!

Below this was from the day that we got a boat to the Pakleni/Paklinski islands off of Hvar... featuring me as a happy egg and also a glimpse of the treacherous sea urchins that menace alongside the gorgeous Croatian waters!

After Hvar, we headed inland to Krka National Park (via Split).
The water here just continues to be amazing, as you can see here! Especially in the second photo. The first picture is the first glimpse of the valley as we were approaching.
After Krka, there's the Plitvice Lakes National Park. And if you think the water has been impressive so far (as I did) then hold on to your hat! These are the pictures that have me saying "this can't be real life".

And so concluded our time in Croatia! We also briefly visited Zadar and spent some time in Split but since I could only include the highlights, I am always going to choose another water picture!
I hope you enjoyed this post and please do let me know if you'd like to see more! I intend to make this into a bit of a series.
If for some reason you need more pictures, check out my Insta'd pics from the trip below!
